What photo should I send?
Head shots for embroidery, full body for scenery prints, and what to do if you forgot to attach one
The photo we need depends on what you have ordered, and the two are different, so it is worth checking.
For embroidered portraits
We need a clear photo of your pet's head. The embroidery is a portrait, so it does not include the full body. What matters is that we can see their face clearly, their markings, their eyes, their expression.
A few things that help:
- Natural daylight beats flash every time.
- Front facing works beautifully, but side on is absolutely fine if that is the picture you love.
- Sharp and in focus matters more than professional. A good phone photo is perfect.
- One photo per pet, please.
- If your pet is black, get as much light on their face as you can, so we can see their features rather than a silhouette.
For scenery prints
It is the other way round. We place your pet into a scene, so those need a full body photo.
Any animal, and any decent photo
We are not limited to cats and dogs. We stitch horses, rabbits, hamsters, birds and reptiles too.
Your photo does not need to be perfect. If you are hesitating because you think your pictures are not good enough, particularly of a pet who is no longer with you, please send it anyway. Every photo is reviewed by a person before we start, so if there is any trouble we will simply ask.
If you forgot to attach a photo
No problem at all. Email it to hello@lucyandlolashop.com, quoting your order number, and we will match it up.
If you would like to change your photo
Found a better one after ordering? Email us as soon as you can, quoting your order number.
If we have not started your design yet, it is usually no trouble at all. If your proof has already been sent, your pet has to be designed again from the new photo, so there may be a £10 charge for the second design. Ask us and we will tell you where your order has got to before you decide.
